Biography:

April Breeden is a northeast Georgia native from the town of Royston, Georgia.  She earned her undergraduate degree at Emmanuel College, continuing the family tradition of attending Emmanuel College established by her parents and grandparents.  At Emmanuel, she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English with a minor in writing.  During her undergraduate studies, she received transient credit from the University of Iowa’s Writing Workshop in poetry and studied with the University of Georgia’s Studies Abroad Program in Cortona, Italy.  April received her Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Georgia in 2016.  During law school, she participated in internships in the area of adoption law and with the Western Circuit Public Defender’s Office.

April gained admission to the Georgia State Bar in 2016 and began her practice in the area of family law in Cumming, Georgia.  She then practiced as a Staff Attorney for the Northern Judicial Circuit Superior Court Judge, the Honorable Jeffery S. Malcom.  April joined Bart Patterson & Associates, LLC in August of 2019, and she presently serves as an associate Special Assistant Attorney General.  She is a member of the Georgia State Bar Family Law Section and Child Protection & Advocacy Section.
